According to the results emerging from the respective local bodies, BJP’s Dinesh Bhatt was elected Deputy Mayor in Udaipur. In Ajmer, BJP’s Hemant Sankhla won the post, while Ajay Poonia in Alwar and Pankaj Gehlot in Bikaner also secured victories.

In Bhilwara, BJP’s Radheshyam Somani was elected, while Ambika Saini of the BJP won in Bharatpur. In Pali, independent candidate Mehboob T was elected to the Deputy Mayor and Vice-Chairperson post.

The contests in Ajmer and Pali were so closely fought that the final outcome had to be decided through a draw, or lottery system. In Ajmer, BJP and Congress candidates received an equal 40 votes each. In contrast, Bhilwara saw BJP’s Radheshyam Somani elected unopposed.

The biggest political upset was witnessed in the Bikaner Municipal Corporation, where the Congress had a clear majority but still suffered defeat. Cross-voting by Congress councillors paved the way for BJP’s Pankaj Gehlot to become Deputy Mayor. The result came just a day after the Congress had secured the Mayor’s post in Bikaner, making the reversal in the Deputy Mayor election particularly significant.

In another development, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) secured a major victory in the Baran Municipal Council Vice-Chairperson election. AAP’s Tejas Suman won 31 of the total 50 votes, defeating Congress candidate Naveen, who received 19 votes.

In Mathania Municipality of Jodhpur, Congress candidate Jitendra Devra won the Vice-Chairperson election with 18 votes.

Congress leader Divya Maderna also remained in focus during the elections after she reached the polling centre wearing a helmet, citing security reasons.

The Rajasthan civic elections also witnessed several dramatic moments. In Kota’s Ramganj Mandi Municipality, BJP’s Mahendra Samaria was elected unopposed as Vice-Chairperson. After his victory, Samaria travelled around 500 metres to the Govardhan Nath Temple while performing dandvat, lying prostrate as he moved towards the temple.

In Sawai Madhopur Municipal Council, a heated exchange and scuffle took place between BJP election in-charge Madan Prajapat and police during the nomination process for the Deputy Chairperson post.

A striking moment was also witnessed in Sikar, where a former chairperson and Congress councillor placed a hand on the head of BJP candidate Rekha Vicharniya and blessed her.

In Bikaner, a minor dispute broke out after the vehicle of MLA Jethalal Vikas was stopped during voting. The situation was later brought under control after Mayor candidate Surendra Singh intervened.

In Udaipur’s Fateh Nagar Municipality, BJP rebel councillor Rajesh Chaplod was brought to cast his vote in police custody during the election for the Chairperson post in connection with a case under the SC-ST Act.

The BJP’s strong showing was also reflected across the Bharatpur division. Out of 32 local bodies in the division, BJP-backed candidates were elected at 22 places, while Congress candidates won seven and independents secured three posts.

In the Bharatpur Municipal Corporation, BJP’s Ambika Saini won the Deputy Mayor post after Anuradha Singh had earlier won the Mayor election.

The BJP also maintained complete dominance across all six local bodies in Deeg district. In the Deeg Municipal Council, there was even discussion that the BJP candidate received zero votes.

The electoral equations were different in Karauli district, where six local bodies recorded victories for BJP at one post, Congress at two and independents at three.

In Dholpur, the contest between the BJP and Congress remained evenly balanced, while in the six local bodies of Sawai Madhopur, BJP won four Vice-Chairperson posts and Congress secured two.

The results, along with the closely fought contests, cross-voting, unopposed victories, draw-based outcomes and election-day confrontations, marked a high-stakes round of Rajasthan’s local-body elections, with the BJP emerging victorious in six of the seven posts highlighted in the results.
